According to user activity on the Polymarket platform, Bitcoin (BTC) may not have reached its peak price for December. Most users are betting on a rise to new all-time highs, with expectations of record-breaking prices before the end of 2024.
Polymarket hosts an open call allowing users to wager on Bitcoin’s December performance. Over $7 million has been staked across various price points, reflecting diverse market expectations. The present price target and $2 million in staked capital stand at $105,000. Notably, 63% of participants believe BTC will exceed this level.
Key Price Predictions on Polymarket
Among the most significant bets are three high-value targets: $110,000, $120,000, and $130,000. Each of these predictions has attracted nearly $1.3 million in wagers. However, none of these has a majority backing:
- $110,000: 42% of votes predict BTC will reach this level.
- $120,000: Only 20% of users see this price as likely.
- $130,000: Just 10% expect Bitcoin to climb this high in December.
This data indicates that most Polymarket users are cautiously optimistic, expecting BTC to reach $105,000 but showing limited confidence in more significant rallies.
For lower price points, bets on BTC dropping to $90,000 or $85,000 have garnered 43% and 22% support, respectively. However, these wagers collectively account for less than $800,000, significantly trailing the capital staked on higher targets.
Historical Highs and Market Sentiment
The only prediction concluded was a bet on Bitcoin hitting $100,000, a milestone surpassed last week for the first time in history. So far this month, Bitcoin has reached a high of $103,600 and a low of $92,300, according to TradingView data.
Polymarket has become a popular platform for gauging market sentiment, especially within the crypto community. However, its predictions may not fully represent broader market views, as they reflect only its user base.
Bitcoin’s Bullish Outlook for 2025
Aligning with Polymarket’s bullish sentiment, analysts at the Ripio exchange predict further upside for Bitcoin, possibly climbing beyond $105,000 in the coming days. In a note shared with CriptoNoticias, Ripio analysts highlighted the buying pressure that recently propelled BTC to new highs, suggesting this momentum could drive further growth.
However, the $100,000 milestone represents a strong psychological barrier, heavily anticipated since the last bull run in 2021. As such, some experts foresee a consolidation period around this level before Bitcoin resumes its upward trajectory.
