One of these significant advanced changes that occurred about a decade ago is the advent of cryptocurrencies popularly known as “crypto”.
Cryptocurrencies are just digital currencies that are not usually controlled centrally as do the traditional forex market. The forex market as compared to the crypto market is heavily dependent and controlled by central banks and governments who regulate how money is supplied and transacted between nations, individuals etc.
The conundrum amongst investors is whether the crypto market or the forex market is a better investment. Which of the two should a trader consider investing in? Should traders invest in the two? Even if they are to invest in the two, which one of them should supersede the other or is it ideal to equally invest in them?

The decision to trade either the forex or crypto market or both would definitely be based on the factors as enumerated above including other factors.
The Crypto Market
The cryptocurrency market deals in digital currencies. These digital currencies include Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin traded on decentralized platforms. The value of cryptocurrencies is determined mainly by market supply and demand hence it isn’t supported by central banks or governments of nations.
The high volatility associated with the crypto market presents the potential for high returns for well-informed traders and danger to amateurs or beginner traders who are uninformed or less informed. All traders must exercise restraint and proper risk management when trading the crypto market due to this.
The crypto markets remain open 24 hours daily, 7 days a week. The crypto market never closes making room for all kinds of traders to participate. There are two major trading platforms for trading cryptocurrencies. They are the centralized exchange (CEX) and the Decentralized exchange (DEX) platforms.
Centralized Exchange (CEX)
The centralized exchange is a platform where one can buy, sell, and trade cryptocurrencies. Examples of this platform include Crypto.com, OKX, KuCoin, Bybit, Coinbase, Kraken, etc. They function like middlemen connecting buyers and sellers of assets supervised by a centralized entity, similar to a traditional financial institution. With these exchanges, you can purchase cryptocurrencies using fiat currencies or other already owned cryptocurrencies. Take note that centralized exchanges provide additional services such as spot trading, options trading, and futures trading. These specific services provided by centralized exchanges do vary depending on the legal regulations of various countries.
Decentralized Exchange (DEX)
The decentralized exchange is a peer-to-peer platform allowing individuals to trade cryptocurrencies directly without any intermediary. Buyers would trade cryptocurrencies or fiat currencies for their desired cryptocurrencies. These platforms are usually governed and monitored by the Blockchain Technology and Smart Contracts. These decentralized exchange platforms are viewed as more secure than centralized exchanges (CEX) by most crypto traders. Mainly because traders have total control over the ownership of their digital assets in a wallet. Nevertheless, this comes with extra responsibility since traders would have to remember and safely keep their private keys.

The Forex market is by far the largest financial market in the world where over $6 trillion is traded daily. Buying and selling currencies are the businesses that occur in this market.
